Business Development$126k–$210k/yrFull-time

About the role

The Provider Innovation Studio is an internal business function within McKesson’s Provider Solutions business that partners with functional and go-to-market leadership to pull through our strategic imperatives of growth, optimization, and innovation across business-unit and practice-specific programs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, scope, and manage strategic and transformative projects end-to-end, including implementation; own deliverables and timelines, shift priorities as needed, and manage stakeholder relationships and expectations.
  • Serve as a data-driven, decision-support partner to business leaders, turning data and analysis into clear, actionable recommendations that shape strategy and guide high-stakes decisions.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management to evaluate market dynamics and customer needs, target the highest-priority growth and retention opportunities, and advise on opportunities in flight or targeted for future action.
  • Develop business cases for initiative funding and deliver at or above targeted outcomes, translating recommendations into quantifiable objectives and measurable value for McKesson and our customers.
  • Translate market and customer data — including segmentation, therapeutic-area trends, and performance analytics — into insights and recommendations that inform go-to-market strategy and prioritize the highest-value opportunities.
  • Champion innovation and emerging technology — including AI — across the business, identifying high-impact opportunities to transform how we operate and serve our customers.
  • Rapidly develop prototypes and proofs of concept to test new ideas, demonstrate value, and accelerate the path from concept to implementation.
  • Partner with cross-functional and technical teams to design, pilot, and scale AI-enabled tools and solutions that drive growth, efficiency, and better decision-making.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the company’s products, competition, and broader market dynamics that frame the business context today and over the next several years.
  • Act as a thought partner in strategic discussions beyond your own projects and as a business partner to key business leaders.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of strategy, operations, or transformation consulting experience, or relevant industry experience (e.g., FP&A, operations, strategy).
  • Strategic Thinking: evaluate industry trends, draw out long-term implications, and recommend pragmatic strategies for growth, retention, and transformation, making connections across workstreams and matrixed organizations.
  • Analytical Rigor: bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem-solving; synthesize data into credible, actionable recommendations that support confident, data-driven business decisions.
  • Executive Presence & Influence: develop rapport and credibility across the organization and persuasively promote ideas and proposals, especially with senior leaders.
  • Project Leadership: manage cross-functional teams on complex initiatives end-to-end, with comfort navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Financial Acumen: financial modeling and experience with planning, budgeting, and capital allocation in the context of strategic planning.
  • Technical Capabilities: strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and in data-visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Qualifications

  • Preferable: Healthcare Knowledge, M&A experience.
