Sr Manager, Program Management
Leading at Uber means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. As a strategic architect, you’ll define "best-in-class" for our most critical global initiatives—whether scaling world-class sales acquisition motions or establishing safe, scalable support for the future. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, making time, information, and decision-making more effective across a high-stakes, fast-moving landscape. You’ll navigate regional nuances, influence without formal authority, and carry the weight of decisions that impact the reliability and growth of the Uber platform. Ideal for a disciplined operator who thrives in the "messy reality" of a global business and can bring order to high-complexity problem spaces.
Responsibilities
- Oversee highly visible, high-risk, broad-scale programs requiring extensive cross-functional coordination.
- Lead the strategy and operationalization of controls against earner fraudulent account creation, encompassing fraud documents, fraudulent profile photos, identity theft, and deduplication.
- Spearhead the development and execution of the Identity Operations roadmap for CommOps globally, aligning with cross-functional stakeholders including Safety Operations, Product, Engineering, and Legal to balance compliance with optimal user experience.
- Deeply understand the architecture and integration points of Uber's document verification and onboarding processes, products, and policies.
- Advise product design and improvements with a direct impact on business value and overhaul existing policies that limit performance.
- Standardize and unite regional operational processes for vetting identification and eligibility documents using advanced technology capabilities such as automation, machine learning, and workflow management.
- Drive adoption of new processes and product feature rollouts, continuously measuring, analyzing, and improving implemented changes.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing operations team dedicated to identity management and fraud prevention.
- Supervise at least one Program Lead and related roles (e.g., Project Management Specialist, Management Analysts).
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Information Management, Project Management, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Experience leveraging external knowledge to forecast trends, make decisions with measurable impact on company objectives, and guide teams to think long-term.
- Expertise in roadmapping, managing highly visible and high-risk programs, and demonstrating proactive foresight to manage changes and identify potential crises.
- Proficiency in project management techniques, such as Gantt Charts, RAPID decision-making framework, and Red/Yellow/Green status updates.
- Strong prioritization skills using approaches like Return-on-Investment Analysis and Break-Even Analysis.
- Analytical skills using proven business frameworks (SWOT analysis, balanced scorecard, benchmarking, and competitive analysis) and effective root-cause analysis.
- Mathematical and statistical analysis abilities, including translating data-driven insights into understandable visuals for senior management and applying sophisticated statistical experimentation methods (e.g., time series evaluation, difference-in-difference method, synthetic control method).
- Coding proficiency in data extraction and modeling using various internal and external data tools and languages.
- Experience negotiating and overseeing resource allocation and priorities to ensure on-time delivery of projects and deliverables.
