About the role

This position assists in controlling expenses, ensuring compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements, interpreting and enforcing company policies, and maintaining a non-union program. The role involves determining manpower needs, preparing and maintaining records, solving problems effectively, and collaborating with department heads to meet production, quality, and yield goals while maintaining labor standards. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining high standards in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety, as well as managing, evaluating, and training production supervisors. The position oversees all designated shift operations and additional duties as assigned by the plant manager.

All Tyson team members are responsible for safety, including personal and food safety. This role is specifically accountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in controlling expenses and ensuring compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA regulations.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and maintain a non-union program.
  • Determine manpower needs and make recommendations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Solve problems effectively with sound follow-up.
  • Collaborate with department heads to meet production, quality, and yield goals while maintaining labor standards.
  • Inspect and maintain high standards in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety.
  • Manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors.
  • Oversee all designated shift operations and additional responsibilities as assigned by the plant manager.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Monitor and appraise work performance; reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience; college degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of related industry experience.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a meat processing facility (pork or beef preferred).
  • Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations.
  • Standard computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with all levels of team members and government officials.
