About the role
The Senior Manager of EH&S leads and continuously advances the Environment, Health & Safety strategy for a Carrier manufacturing facility. This role leads, strengthens, and continuously improves the EHS management system, drives a zero-incident culture, and ensures full regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Leads execution and continuous improvement of the EH&S strategy and management systems (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001) for the site.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA).
- Leads risk protection programs, behavior-based safety, and safety culture.
- Manages environmental permits, air/water permits, and relationships with regulatory agencies.
- Leads and develops the EH&S team.
- Directs incident investigations, OSHA recordkeeping, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Owns EHS metrics, audits, and management reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 8+ years of industrial Environmental, Health & Safety experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental, Industrial or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in complex, fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Certifications such as CSP, CIH, or ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 lead auditor.
- Experience driving cultural change and behavior-based safety.
- Expert knowledge of US federal, state, and local EH&S regulations (OSHA, EPA) and recordkeeping/reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading, implementing, and continuously improving EHS management systems (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001) and driving behavior-based safety.
- Experience managing environmental permitting (air/water/waste) and regulatory-agency relationships.
- Proven ability to lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action programs.
- Professional certifications such as CSP or CIH are strongly preferred.
Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $117,500.00 and $234,500.00. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
