Core Duties
- food cost reviews and cost of sales analysis by store and in the aggregate
- profit margin analysis on food costs
- lead accounting participant at cross functional brand meetings
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- inventory accounting and related cost of sales
- coach the stores and above store leaders on proper food control and inventory count procedures
- perform cost of sales analysis as a percentage of net sales store by store and on a consolidated basis
- collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain Departments at analyzing food cost margins on a routine basis
- prepare and present to executives food cost margin caused from product changes, inflationary changes, changes in menu pricing, packaging, product mix, etc.
- participate in cross functional brand meetings to discuss menu products, packaging and supplies
- keep inventory systems up to date for recipe changes, menu offering changes, product changes, etc.
- lead change to new software solution for inventory, food cost, variance to theoretical reporting, etc.
- calculate calories for menu requirements and complete government reporting to the Census Bureau
- key contact to the external auditors in their work related to quarterly reviews and annual audits
- responsible for ensuring internal controls for their responsible areas are properly designed and executed to ensure operating effectiveness for compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
- play a role in the Company’s planned journey for software evolution, which includes incorporating AI into existing or new processed to gain efficiency and replace basic tasks with more insight and analysis to provide value beyond the core function of accounting
- assist Principal Accounting Officer and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members with requests or projects as needed
- supervise support staff and work closely with the Controller and Sr Manager of Financial Reporting as it relates to the financial statement close processes and other team projects
- identify improvement opportunities across the Organization’s functions, determine alternative courses of actions with those function leaders and implement process improvements
- continuous goal to reduce “waste” in processes and identify cost savings
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in finance or accounting
- 8+ years of experience
- CPA preferred
- Expert and high skill set with Microsoft Excel
- Executive Presenter
