About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and creative consumer insights professional to join our dynamic team at Tory Burch. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our brand strategy through deep consumer understanding and strategic research.

Responsibilities

  • Own the consumer insights roadmap, proactively prioritizing research investments against brand, product, and marketing priorities.
  • Design and execute primary research — focus groups, in-depth interviews, surveys, and other qualitative and quantitative methods — end to end, from screener and discussion guide through fielding and analysis.
  • Select the right research approach for each business question, balancing rigor, timeline, and budget, and know when to build custom versus lean on existing data.
  • Create compelling stimulus, surveys, and discussion materials that are logical, well-structured, and creatively engaging for respondents.
  • Triangulate primary research with first-party signals — social listening, voice of customer (reviews, contact center, CRM feedback), and behavioral/digital data — into a single, coherent view of the customer.
  • Partner with Digital, CRM, and Data teams to access and interpret behavioral and VoC data sources, building a more complete picture than any one input alone.
  • Translate research findings into vivid customer stories and profiles — not just decks of charts — that bring the data to life and shape decisions among Brand, Merchandising, and Marketing partners.
  • Own and manage the insights budget, research vendors, and tool/platform relationships (panels, listening tools, survey platforms), ensuring high-quality work is delivered on time and on budget.
  • Regularly present to and influence senior leadership, using insights to directly inform brand, product, and marketing decisions.
  • Stay closely attuned to cultural, competitive, and consumer trends — including syndicated and competitive intelligence — proactively surfacing what’s new or shifting in her world.
  • Build and maintain a repository of customer knowledge and always-on insights infrastructure (trackers, dashboards) so findings are accessible and actionable across the organization.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in consumer/market insights or primary research, with hands-on experience designing and moderating focus groups, interviews, and surveys across qual and quant methods.
  • Experience working across first-party data sources beyond primary research — social listening, voice of customer, behavioral/digital analytics — synthesized into a unified view of the customer.
  • A track record of owning a research agenda or roadmap, including the budget, vendors, and tools behind it.
  • A sharp, logical approach to research design paired with genuine creativity in crafting stimulus and materials.
  • An insatiable curiosity about the customer, with a track record of digging past the obvious answer to find the true insight.
  • A great storyteller who can turn data into a narrative or profile that sticks with an audience and influences senior leadership.
  • A data-driven mindset with sound business judgment, able to manage multiple studies and stakeholders without losing rigor.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Proficiency in market research software and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

Benefits

  • Generous benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
  • Flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • Employee discount on Tory Burch products.
  • Paid volunteer days through the Tory Burch Foundation.
