Sr Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Sr. Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities. They are responsible for troubleshooting and repairing all equipment failures, sharing knowledge with the maintenance team and operators, and acting as a subject matter expert in specific equipment areas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair of all equipment failures.
• Share knowledge of all production equipment with the maintenance team and operators.
• Act as a subject matter expert on behalf of the plant in areas such as injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis, and other water filtration equipment.
• Resolve mechanical issues directly with plant leadership and other maintenance technicians.
• Develop and implement best practices aligned with Niagara’s maintenance strategies using preventative and predictive maintenance processes.
• Champion continuous improvement efforts and assist with training in designated focus areas.
• Create SOPs for troubleshooting machines and upload them to the BDA system.
• Lead overhaul efforts to rebuild equipment to like-new status during planned downtime.
• Develop and lead training in areas of bottling production specialization, including blow molding, filling/capping, labeling, and dry-end packaging.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to operators and mechanics.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve throughput performance.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in the position.
• Minimum 4 years of experience managing people/projects.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments and levels of the organization.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools.
• Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
• Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of plant or machine center.
