About the role
The Sr. Maintenance Technician at Calgon Carbon | A Kuraray Company is responsible for maintaining plant equipment and facilities, supervising others, and coordinating maintenance activities. Responsibilities
- Repairs, installs, alters, fabricates, and maintains plant equipment and facilities according to national, state, and local codes and industry standards.
- Supervises others in the repair and maintenance of plant equipment and oversees contractors on small capital projects when the maintenance manager is unavailable.
- Schedules and coordinates maintenance work requests and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance activities.
- Maintains maintenance records, equipment files, and spare parts inventories.
- Keeps the maintenance manager informed of plant maintenance issues and needs.
- Performs general housekeeping in the Maintenance Shop area and cleans up repair areas in the plant.
- Participates in housekeeping audits and assists with the evaluation and implementation of improvement ideas and process and equipment modifications.
- Follows all safety guidelines and JSPs, making suggestions for improvement if necessary.
- Trains plant personnel on safety procedures such as Lockout/Tag out, Confined Space Entry, etc.
- Troubleshoots operation problems and recommends appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Verifies and calibrates selected process and testing and inspection equipment.
- Develops and implements Preventive/Predictive Maintenance activities and maintains appropriate records.
- Supervises other maintenance technicians and contractors when the maintenance lead and maintenance manager are unavailable.
- Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and implements all CCC and OSHA safe work practices.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- A one-year certificate from college or technical school in a maintenance-related field is preferred.
- Five to seven years of manufacturing/maintenance experience.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Previous maintenance technician experience is preferred.
