About the role
The Sr. Maintenance/Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, replacing, and installing plant mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. They also provide support for production and must have outstanding electrical and mechanical qualities.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, replace, and install plant mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, such as servicing conveyors, presses, stackers, etc.
- Support production in various ways.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install mechanical components, electrical controls, AC/DC motors, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, bearings, and power transmission.
- Read and understand mechanical prints, electrical wiring diagrams/schematics, AC/DC motors, pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Operate metal, wood working, and hand tools to make and repair parts.
- Maintain close relationships with Machine Operators and Production Supervisors.
- Handle multiple projects at one time.
- Provide leadership training and share knowledge and experiences.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
- Possess technical skills in all disciplines of industrial maintenance.
- Working knowledge of PLC controlled equipment.
- Able to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Outstanding analytical and decision-making skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Broad mechanical skills.
- Self-motivation.
- Strong electrical background a plus.
- Able to lift 50 to 70 pounds as needed, with assistance as required.
Qualifications
- Must have excellent housekeeping, people, and team skills.
- Willing to better organize the maintenance department tools, cabinets, miscellaneous fasteners and tooling as needed with the help of his fellow employees.
- Willing to work weekends, holidays, and fill in when needed.
- Must have steel-toed electrical-hazard safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE based on task requirements.
