Sr. Machine Maint Tech
About the Role
This position is responsible for keeping the facility and machinery operating in excellent condition and repairing any problems when they are discovered. The Sr. Machine Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of repair tasks around the facility and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality assessments, schedule repairs, and develop preventative maintenance procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance around the building, such as fixing structural damage (e.g., windows, doors, walls), landscaping, and carpentry.
- Maintain and repair machinery, including automation cells, 3-axis robots, conveyors, packaging equipment, and assembly equipment.
- Plan and schedule repairs on equipment or facility.
- Repair broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
- Work on damaged electrical wiring.
- Maintain the building HVAC equipment to ensure proper climate control.
- Apply preventative measures to the building to reduce future problems (e.g., using sealant on a flat roof).
- Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Paint the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems.
- Responsible for daily machinery start-up.
- Complete production paperwork.
Work Environment
This position operates in both an office and manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The position also involves interaction with machinery on the manufacturing floor and various devices sold by the company.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, stoop, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently lifts and/or carries up to 20 pounds and must regularly lift up to 75 pounds.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field (preferred).
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems.
- Electrical wiring capabilities to manage building electrical issues.
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
- Grounds keeping and maintenance experience.
- Experience with a wide variety of machinery.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or building residents.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality job completion and hazard identification.
- Physical stamina to handle a full shift of active work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information to all levels within the organization.
- High-quality computer skills, including MS Office.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to produce high-quality work in a high-volume environment.
