Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and analytical expertise to ensure life insurance and annuity products, rates, and pricing recommendations are accurately implemented across administrative systems, illustration platforms, and supporting tools.
  • Serve as a key resource within Life Business Solutions and partner closely with Actuarial, Information Technology, Operations, Marketing, and Agency teams to deliver high-quality product implementations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Farm Bureau life insurance and annuity products, product features, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to ensure accurate and timely implementation of new products, enhancements, and rate changes.
  • Design, execute, and oversee testing strategies to validate system functionality, product values, and illustration outputs.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex implementation and production issues while partnering with development teams to ensure quality solutions.
  • Create and maintain product specifications, business requirements, technical documentation, rate books, and reference materials.
  • Serve as a primary subject matter expert and point of contact for product implementation questions, support requests, and operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by implementing accurate administrative calculations, rates, policy values, and illustration projections.
  • Lead administrative support efforts, including system table maintenance, specification updates, administrative rule development, and process improvements.
  • Respond to and resolve highly complex service requests for internal and external stakeholders in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Assist the Life Product Support Director with workflow coordination, employee development, training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Support post-release validation activities and help ensure successful implementation outcomes across supported systems and products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, computer science, finance, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent insurance industry experience will be considered.
  • Five or more years of life insurance, annuity, product implementation, product support, systems, actuarial, or related industry experience preferred.
  • FLMI designation preferred; progress toward industry designations is encouraged.
  • Strong knowledge of life insurance and annuity products, illustrations, rates, and administrative processes preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand policy contracts and reinsurance treaties preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage highly complex issues.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project coordination skills.
  • Reasonably regular and predictable attendance.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must work from our office in West Des Moines, Iowa.
