Sr Lead Provider - Internal Only
About the role
The PLH Senior Medical Lead serves as a clinical leader in the organization, providing mentorship, training, and policy advocacy. This role exemplifies commitment to PLH’s mission and values, champions new and established policies, and collaborates closely with the Director of Compliance. The Senior Medical Lead acts as a resource for fellow providers, supports compliance and quality improvement efforts, and contributes to clinical leadership without replacing the Medical Director or Director of Compliance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an advanced clinical resource and mentor to PLH medical providers, offering guidance on clinical care, documentation standards, workflows, and adherence to PLH expectations.
- Facilitate the rollout and championing of the EHR system, providing continuous education and developmental guidance for incoming clinical providers regarding PLHC.
- Lead training and clinical support for new PLH medical providers, including onboarding, orientation, workflow education, documentation expectations, and ongoing development.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to providers on clinical practice, documentation quality, compliance expectations, and organizational standards.
- Perform provider and chart reviews, including co-signing responsibilities as assigned.
- Promote adherence to PLH Clinical and Administrative Policies and assist in updating and communicating clinical best practices and workflow improvements.
- Collaborate with Medical Directors and the Director of Compliance to develop, review, and improve clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Support compliance initiatives, audit readiness, documentation standards, and quality improvement efforts in partnership with the Director of Compliance.
- Serve as a point of contact for clinical compliance needs and quality improvement, bridging communication between patient care teams and administration.
- Review clinical quality trends and identify opportunities for workflow improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by PLH Clinical Leadership.
Requirements
- Must be an in-clinic provider (not solely virtual) to support provider training, mentorship, and clinical development.
- Must have served as a PLH Medical Lead for a minimum of one year.
- Must consistently meet Medical Lead productivity and performance expectations.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical documentation, compliance standards, and quality patient care.
- Proven ability to provide clinical mentorship, coaching, and constructive feedback to other providers.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to partner effectively with providers, Medical Directors, Compliance, and operational teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to PLH’s mission, values, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to identify challenges, propose solutions, and support the implementation of organizational initiatives.
Schedule
The Senior Medical Lead role includes both clinical and administrative responsibilities. Clinical hours are scheduled based on organizational needs, while administrative hours require a minimum of four (4) hours per month (or additional time as approved by leadership).
