About the role

The Senior JV Accountant, working under limited supervision, is responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex joint venture accounting projects. This role identifies, diagnoses, and recommends solutions while collaborating across disciplines and contributing to both company and JV Accounting department performance and goals. The role establishes and upholds control procedures to maintain financial integrity with GAAP accounting principles and COPAS standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with various Accounting, Land, and Operations teams to gather necessary information, ensuring seamless coordination for effective management of JV Accounting processes and resolution of inquiries.
• Prepare monthly JV accounting journal entries and schedules as assigned.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly as assigned.
• Cultivate effective relationships, share knowledge, and provide influence over projects and peer groups, demonstrating understanding of industry best practices.
• Develop familiarity with the control environment and diligently adhere to established control procedures to uphold financial integrity and compliance within the joint venture’s accounting framework.
• Verify financial transactions on the joint venture in accordance with COPAS standards, meticulously entering line items to ensure compliance and accurate financial representation, fostering transparency between collaborating entities.
• Host and respond to JV Audits and work with external JV Partners to resolve questions on JIB billings.
• Manage all desk responsibilities to meet monthly deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other related discipline (commensurate work experience may substitute).
• 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in areas such as JV Accounting, Financial Analysis & Reporting, Account Reconciliation, or a related field.
• Industry experience is preferred.
