Sr. Accountant

Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant or Accounting Manager to provide interim accounting support to a manufacturing client in Lexington, Ohio for 3+ months. This role will deliver critical accounting support during a transition period, collaborating closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial operations and timely reporting.

About the role

This is a 100% onsite position based at the client’s location in Lexington, OH. The initial duration is approximately three months, with potential for extensions or conversion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full payroll cycle to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
• Prepare, review, and maintain payroll-related accruals and other month-end accounting entries.
• Record and reconcile intercompany accruals and related transactions across entities.
• Monitor accounts payable invoice activity to keep processing current and accurate.
• Support month-end close activities by analyzing balances, posting journal entries, and resolving discrepancies.
• Partner directly with the Controller to provide accounting coverage and maintain department continuity.
• Review financial data for accuracy and completeness while strengthening day-to-day accounting controls.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including senior-level accounting responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience managing payroll accounting and related accrual processes.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, including monthly and expense accruals.
• Hands-on experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliation activities.
• Familiarity with accounts payable processes and invoice tracking.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Lexington, Ohio.
• Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
