Sr Java Technical Lead
Leads analysis, programming, and configuration of end-user applications or systems software, including both custom development and third-party packaged products. Acts as a thought leader within the department, recommending operational strategies and plans that directly impact business results and influencing leadership decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develops strategy and roadmap for delivering innovation and automation while analyzing detailed business requirements and specifications for applications.
- Configures internally developed applications and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages.
- Plans application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.
- Maintains relationships with clients while communicating with IT and business management; monitors prompt response and support for technical issues.
- Receives activity and progress reports regarding applications systems analysis and programming sections.
- Leads process improvements, cost reduction efforts, and tool development to improve the software development and support process, reducing complexity, improving service, and lowering cost.
- Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- 8 years of work experience (Required); 10 years (Preferred)
- 5 or more years of hands-on programming experience in Java and Spring framework working in production environments.
- 5 or more years of experience building microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, deployed on AWS or containerized workloads.
- Experience with relational database or NoSQL database technologies including Oracle or MongoDB.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of developers to deliver high-quality, scalable applications to production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with front-end development using React or Angular, contributing to full-stack delivery across the user interface and backend services.
- Demonstrated ability to research emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concept initiatives, bringing innovation into the development process in a structured and risk-aware manner.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders to align on goals and timelines, define solution roadmaps, and lead end-to-end delivery.
- Application ownership experience.

Pay
Base Pay Range: $147,000/yr - $178,000/yr. Actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
