Sr. IT Project Manager - Remote

This position is responsible for day-to-day management and execution of multiple medium projects and large or extra-large projects through the project lifecycle. The Project Manager defines and delivers within the agreed budget, scope, and timelines while managing issues and risks. They articulate project status, manage expectations, and collaborate with functional business areas to achieve project objectives, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring high-quality implemented solutions. The role may also involve advising or coaching team members in project management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Uses the standardized Systems Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) to create and execute project work plans, revising as needed to meet changing requirements.
  • Develops clear milestones and timeboxes work appropriately.
  • Determines resource needs and collaborates with resource managers to allocate resources according to work plans.
  • Manages delivery with urgency while holding teams accountable for high-quality solutions.
  • Ensures accountability for work against estimates (time and duration).
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project, producing required artifacts and materials.
  • Applies project methodology, enforces standards, and streamlines processes for speed of delivery.
  • Minimizes exposure and risk while ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Manages, resolves, and escalates issues to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Manages project timelines, tracking progress and forecasting completion.
  • Meticulously maintains project budget and forecasts throughout the project duration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or Finance.
  • Preferred: PMP or equivalent certification.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management.
  • Experience leading large portfolio and project teams.
  • Knowledge of FSMA204 Food Traceability policies and requirements is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments/projects concurrently.
  • Ability to follow and execute a project methodology to meet audit requirements.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Functional/technical expertise and demonstrated ability to coach/mentor people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus, and ability to work in geographically dispersed teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and exercise good judgment, especially in situations with limited direct supervision.

Work Environment

This is a remote role where the associate will perform work from their primary residence. While remote associates are not required to work from an office regularly, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed by their manager.

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. The role involves sitting for long periods at a desk or computer terminal, using hands for typing, handling, or feeling, and regular communication. Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.

Pay

UNFI anticipates paying the referenced pay rate (or within the pay range) for this position. Actual pay will depend on factors including education, experience, training, and requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
