About the role

The Alkami Sr. Integration Success Engineer is a post-sale, lifecycle-focused technical role that bridges software engineering, technical support, and customer enablement. You’ll work closely with financial institutions (FIs) and their development teams/system integrators to build, test, and launch custom integrations using the Alkami SDK and platform APIs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical partner for FIs and their development teams/system integrators, guiding integration architecture, providing hands-on troubleshooting, and offering break/fix support.
  • Own the integration lifecycle from discovery to go-live, validating approaches and use cases, and providing technical oversight.
  • Support customer and integrator developers during the build phase with SDK usage guidance, API behavior explanation, endpoint design, and error handling.
  • Provide testing and validation support prior to production, ensuring expected platform behavior and identifying edge cases.
  • Handle inbound SDK and integration questions, clarifying SDK capabilities, endpoint usage, API response interpretation, and providing short consultations.
  • Triage and scope inbound tickets to determine whether they require advisory support or a full project proposal.
  • Transition advisory tickets into scoped project proposals when customer needs evolve into hands-on architectural design assistance, extensive troubleshooting, repeated debugging sessions, code or workflow reviews, or active participation in build and test phases.
  • Track all contracted engagement hours to ensure proper recording of customer entitlements and utilization, enabling accurate forecasting of SDK support demand.
  • Cross-functional escalation & feedback coordination, providing structured reproduction steps and context for technical escalations to Engineering, and serving as a consistent feedback channel from the field into Product and Engineering.

Requirements

Must have a solid understanding of REST API design and usage, including authentication patterns, request/response structures, pagination, and error handling. Working knowledge of at least one programming language commonly used for API and SDK integration (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#). Familiarity with developer tooling such as Postman, API documentation, log analysis, and debugging workflows. Experience with or strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and integration testing practices. Ability to analyze and interpret JSON payloads, API logs, and error traces to isolate the source of integration issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical detail for both developer audiences and non-technical FI stakeholders. Comfortable navigating ambiguity in early-stage integrations where requirements evolve and scope needs active management. Experience working with or alongside system integrators or third-party vendors is a strong plus.

Qualifications

Experience 4–6 years of experience with a demonstrated track record of independently owning complex integration engagements end-to-end; ability to mentor peers and contribute to program-level improvements (e.g., playbook development, triaging models, engagement scoping standards).
