About the role

As an integral member of the Talent Management team, the Senior Instructional Designer will focus on creating and stewarding an exceptional employee experience, with a particular emphasis on developing exceptional leaders. This role ensures our existing curriculum is impactful, modernized, and effective for USAP leaders while developing new curriculum to support future needs. The Senior Instructional Designer creates compelling learning experiences designed to support behavioral change by applying instructional design theories and methods and utilizing digital content tools.

The base pay estimate for this role is $60,800-$103,400 annually. The final offer will depend on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate. This range is for base pay only and does not include bonuses or other compensation. This position is eligible for an annual bonus, awarded based on company and individual performance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a training solution partner to the organization, working directly and independently with the Learning Development Consultant to define needs, design, and develop training solutions.
  • Apply project management skills to manage instructional design projects, including handling multiple projects and training programs concurrently.
  • Design effective and time-efficient training materials and content, such as online/e-learning modules, microlearning courses, instructor-led training, job aids, online tutorials, and multimedia content. Areas of training may include new employee onboarding, performance management, professional and leadership development, and team engagements.
  • Own Learning Management System (LMS) administrative maintenance and reporting (Workday Learning & Performance modules).
  • Provide support to the Talent team in communications and maintenance of design initiatives and programs.
  • Support the maintenance of established programs to increase participation, update content, and refine delivery options to meet learners' needs.
  • Partner with Talent Management team members to support training solutions for the organization, refining needs and designing solutions to address them.
  • Leverage relationship management skills to build effective partnerships and drive program success.
  • Write and edit technical and procedural documents, such as training aids, quick reference guides, participant guides, and facilitator manuals.
  • Use LMS experience to publish and revise content on Workday or other LMS platforms.
  • Create and support learning reporting.
  • Support change efforts necessary to launch new and revised training experiences and culture initiatives in coordination with Talent Management team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • 5+ years of work experience as an Instructional Designer, with a preference for healthcare experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices in the creation and design of instructional materials for adult education and/or corporate training.
  • Knowledge and application of best practices using technology for learning, including multimedia development, web conferencing, learning management systems, social networking, and online collaborative tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse personality types and communicate professionally with all levels of management.
  • Ability to consult with senior stakeholders, HR, and People Leaders with professionalism and influence.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex leadership design projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to determine learning needs and distill complex concepts into simple, easy-to-grasp design solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project, Excel, Articulate, Storyline, and microlearning platforms.
  • Proactive, creative, and efficient in identifying issues and proposing solutions.
  • Flexible, decisive, trusted, and responsible to assist in delivering on agreed commitments and goals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including technical writing for development, implementation, and maintenance of documentation.
