Sr. Instructional Designer
Role Summary
The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions that support employee development, onboarding programs, continuous learning initiatives, and other business priorities. This role partners closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to create engaging, learner-centered experiences that drive performance and business outcomes.
Top Must Have Skills
6+ years of instructional design experience in a corporate or enterprise environment
Expert knowledge of instructional design methodologies, including the ADDIE model and adult learning principles
Proven experience designing and developing blended learning solutions, including eLearning, instructor-led training, and job aids
Advanced proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, and Adobe Captivate
Strong performance consulting and needs analysis skills
Experience developing assessments and measuring learning effectiveness
Exceptional stakeholder management and collaboration skills
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working within Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, Communications, Design, Organizational Behavior, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Familiarity with learning product lifecycle processes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro
Familiarity with multimedia and visual design techniques
Familiarity with AI-enabled learning design tools, content generation platforms, media creation tools, or workflow automation solutions
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, usability, and learner experience
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design and development of learning solutions using the ADDIE methodology (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate)
Partner with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to assess performance gaps, identify root causes, and define learning requirements
Design and develop high-quality learning materials, including Learning Design Documents (LDDs), storyboards, eLearning modules, instructor-led training content, job aids, and blended learning solutions
Create assessment strategies and measurement plans to evaluate learning effectiveness and alignment with business objectives
Review, revise, and validate learning deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to established design standards
Collaborate with business leaders, sales leadership, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful learning experiences that support organizational goals
Apply accessibility standards and inclusive design practices across all learning solutions
Provide learner-focused insights and recommendations to influence learning roadmaps and training strategies
Evaluate design approaches and recommend solutions based on learner experience, scalability, operational efficiency, and business impact
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining ownership of timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications
Support onboarding, continuous learning, and other enterprise learning initiatives through innovative and effective instructional design practices
Leverage modern learning technologies, authoring tools, and digital learning strategies to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of learning programs and learning experiences across the organization by identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation
