Sr. Innovation and Design Engineer, Worldwide Design and Engineering
About the role
We're looking to add a high-impact engineer to our team in Nashville. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems. You will own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval. You will be our suppliers' primary point of technical contact for your projects. Then, once the design is completed and approved, you will hand-off the project to our Ops Engineering team who will oversee the installation and commissioning of the project. You'll support that team to ensure that the system you've designed is successfully installed, commissioned and launched.
Responsibilities
- Design the next generation of world-class fulfillment centers and logistics systems across the globe
- Own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval
- Serve as suppliers' primary point of technical contact for projects
- Support Ops Engineering team through installation, commissioning, and launch of designed systems
- Work on green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofit projects
- Design fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, specialty facilities (reverse logistics, hazmat), and ground and air transportation centers throughout North America and Europe
- Handle both template-based and designed-from-scratch projects
- Work with a team of highly skilled engineers in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or foreign equivalent
- Experience in management of engineering design projects
- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of specialty experience with progressive responsibility
- Master's degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or related field
- Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, systems, and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience with design-in-safety

Pay
USA, TN, Nashville: $125,500.00 - $169,800.00 USD annually
USA, VA, Arlington: $132,100.00 - $178,800.00 USD annually
