Sr. Innovation and Design Engineer, Worldwide Design and Engineering
About the role
We are looking to add a high-impact engineer to our team in Nashville. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems. You will own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval. You will be our suppliers' primary point of technical contact for your projects. Once the design is completed and approved, you will hand-off the project to our Ops Engineering team who will oversee the installation and commissioning. You'll support that team to ensure the system you've designed is successfully installed, commissioned and launched.
Project scope
- Green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits
- Fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, specialty facilities (reverse logistics, hazmat), and ground and air transportation centers throughout North America and Europe
- Variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch projects
Team environment
You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; you will grow.
Basic qualifications
- 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or foreign equivalent
- Experience in management of engineering design projects
- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of specialty (with progressive responsibility) experience
- Master's degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or related field
- Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, systems, and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience with design-in-safety

Pay
- USA, TN, Nashville: 125,500.00 - 169,800.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington: 132,100.00 - 178,800.00 USD annually
