About the role
Provides senior-level technical expertise to implement, maintain, and optimize core IT infrastructure for all vessels and offices. Troubleshoots complex issues and ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of business-critical IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and deploy complex network and infrastructure solutions that support vital business operations.
- Administer, maintain, and support core infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
- Implement network security policies and controls that monitor for threats; perform other security-related tasks that enhance data security.
- Maintain policy and process for infrastructure vulnerability management, penetration testing, and compliance.
- Leverage automated workflows for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and centralized management to promote efficiency, scalability, and cybersecurity.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues to minimize operational downtime and protect against data loss.
- Collaborate with business systems team to ensure vessel and office access to critical business applications and to maintain related onboard workstations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
- 7+ years of experience in multiple core infrastructure technologies.
- Recognized Networking Certification (e.g., CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto NSE).
- Advanced networking, enterprise storage, hyper-converged systems, virtualization, satellite communications & connectivity.
- Proven experience with IAC and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to identify, define, and solve problems, set priorities, and implement solutions effectively with minimal direction or guidance.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure within deadlines; excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) to access secure areas of vessels.
- Some travel required.
