The Sr Info Sec Threat Hunting Specialist identifies, analyzes, and reports on fraudulent activity and hidden threats targeting external clients. Using defensive measures, digital forensic techniques, and information from a variety of sources, the role protects clients' accounts, personal data, and the organization’s digital platforms from account takeover, new‑account fraud, and related threats. The specialist also improves fraud detection and prevention systems by monitoring internal controls and the external fraud threat landscape, conducting root‑cause analysis on fraud events, and developing strategies to block and alert on suspicious activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and investigate fraudulent activity and anomalous behavior affecting external clients—including account takeover, fraudulent new account creation, and fraudulent enrollment—by analyzing account activity, login patterns, transaction data, and customer behavior across digital, IVR, and call‑center channels.
  • Utilize digital forensic tools and techniques (behavioral biometrics, device fingerprinting, identity verification signals) to detect fraud indicators, reconstruct fraud events, and preserve evidence.
  • Evaluate multi‑factor authentication events, IVR/call‑center interactions, and deep‑fake detection tools to identify authentication bypass attempts, social engineering, caller impersonation, and synthetic media used to commit fraud.
  • Research and analyze source data sets and identified fraudulent activity to determine root cause, attack patterns, and control gaps.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis on confirmed fraud events and develop, refine, and implement fraud‑prevention strategies, including blocking rules, alerting logic, and detection models.
  • Collaborate with technology, fraud operations, and product teams to test and implement new fraud detection and prevention controls while ensuring compliance with enterprise fraud, security, and privacy policies and regulations.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the customer account lifecycle and control environment, continuously monitoring internal fraud trends and the external threat landscape to proactively protect customer accounts.
