We are seeking a Sr. HR Business Partner to join our HR team, based at our Alsip, IL production facility with support and travel to our Grand Rapids, MI facility. This role leads HR initiatives for manufacturing sites, ensuring supportive change management as organizational needs evolve.
Responsibilities
- Establish credibility and build strong partnerships with site leadership and the Corporate HR&C team.
- Serve as an active member of the Plant Leadership Teams, ensuring HR topics and initiatives are represented.
- Define and align HR strategy for plant-level initiatives in the Americas.
- Develop and maintain HR programs tied to client groups’ strategies, including talent acquisition, on-boarding, development, hiring, promotion, and departure processes.
- Partner with leadership to implement cost-effective workforce planning, organizational development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
- Maintain and communicate HR metrics (e.g., talent acquisition, turnover, promotions, transfers, terminations, performance appraisals).
- Facilitate change management and develop plans to drive necessary changes.
- Foster an environment that encourages continuous individual growth and results delivery.
- Partner with HR leadership and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement core HR processes.
- Coordinate administration of health/welfare, FMLA, STD, and Workers Comp for union and non-union employees.
- Act as liaison between employees, third-party administrators, and corporate HR for benefits and leave programs.
- Implement local HR programs, policies, and practices (e.g., Performance Management Process, Talent Review, Engagement Surveys, Reward & Recognition, job evaluations, compensation).
- Lead or contribute to special HR projects to improve practices, processes, and data management.
- Address employee questions and concerns, referring to appropriate internal/external resources.
- Ensure accuracy of employee data in HRIS (SAP) and oversee payroll processing with the Arkema Payroll Team.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and address/resolve escalated HR issues.
- Provide counsel on employee and labor relations, utilizing legal resources when necessary.
- Stay current on U.S. regulations to ensure compliance and timely implementation of changes.
Requirements
- 3+ years as an HR Generalist, including experience with recruiting, employee relations, compensation, performance management, training, and employee development.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
