About the role
The Sr. Grants & Contracts Analyst will manage financial and award needs for the SMART4TB Consortium, serving as a key member of the SMART4TB Senior Management Team. This role involves comprehensive financial project management, ensuring compliance and efficiency across the project.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct complex award management activities, including monitoring and managing accounts, audits, evaluations, and reporting.
- Partner with and act as the final point of contact with faculty and/or budgetary staff and the Office of Research Administration toward the planning and development of application submissions to various federal agencies, private agencies/foundations, and commercial companies.
- Understand and ensure compliance with institutional policies for the pre-award process and sponsor guidelines.
- Review sponsored project proposals for assigned faculty prior to forwarding to the Grants & Contracts Manager and/or ORA for signature. Ensure accuracy and adherence to relevant guidelines.
- Serve as liaison between research units, central offices, and funding agencies.
- Provide strategic information to SMART4TB Leadership on project finances to aid in developing and implementing strategies.
- Assist the COP & Project Director in facilitating, managing, and tracking cost-sharing contributions from the SMART4TB Consortium, Industry Partners, NGOs, Foundations, Private Donors, and Local Research Organizations.
- Develop long-term projections based on different scenarios to aid decision-making, budget allocation decisions, and the efficacy of budget allocation plans toward defined objectives.
- Develop strategies to mitigate emerging budget shortfalls or potential over-expenditures.
- Represent the SMART4TB consortium and liaise on matters dealing with award fiscal discussions with JHU & GHSD officials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Four years of related experience in sponsored research and/or financial positions.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- Successful completion of the Research Administration Training Program (13-15 months) is equivalent to two years of relevant experience for this position. If an employee does not successfully complete the program, no additional experience will be applied.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of external federal guidelines/procedures for grants and contracts, including NIH, NSF, DOD, and NASA.
