Sr. Global Payroll Specialist

About the Opportunity
The Sr. Global Payroll Specialist leads global payroll operations and payroll tax compliance across multiple regions, including the United States and international locations. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, maintains compliance with tax authorities, and drives process improvements that enhance efficiency and scalability. The position partners closely with Finance, Legal, People Operations, Benefits, and Accounting teams to support accurate employee compensation and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Execute full-cycle payroll processing for U.S. multi-state and international entities with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage payroll data across multiple platforms, including ADP, Oyster, and Activpayroll
- Collaborate with People Operations, Benefits, and Accounting to capture, validate, and reconcile payroll inputs
- Oversee payroll-related tax withholdings, employer contributions, and statutory payments worldwide
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll tax returns through payroll providers
- Manage payroll tax account registrations and lead new tax ID setups in expanding jurisdictions
- Serve as the primary contact for payroll tax notices and inquiries from tax agencies
- Manage internal and external payroll audits while ensuring compliance with applicable labor and tax laws
- Monitor changes in global payroll regulations and requirements
- Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Requirements
- 8–12 years of experience managing high-volume, multi-region payroll operations
- Expert proficiency with ADP payroll systems
- Strong experience handling U.S. multi-state and international payroll
- Experience with HiBob HRIS, Oyster Payroll, and Activpayroll is highly valued
- Strong attention to detail when managing complex payroll datasets
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain payroll and tax information clearly
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and resolve complex global payroll challenges
- Motivated, self-driven, and coachable with a growth-oriented mindset
- Experience using AI tools as part of daily work processes
- Preferred location in the Eastern or Central Time zones
- Willingness to travel minimally
Pay
Salary range of $110,000 to $120,000 per year, based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
