About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Sr Global Payroll Specialist to join our finance team! In this role, you will lead our global payroll operations and serve as our internal subject matter expert for payroll-related tax compliance. You will own the end-to-end payroll lifecycle across the US and Rest of World (ROW) regions, ensuring our employees are paid accurately while maintaining our standing with tax authorities worldwide. Responsibilities
- Global Payroll Operations
- End-to-End Execution: Own and execute full-cycle payroll processing for US (multi-state) and international entities, ensuring 100% accuracy and timeliness.
- Multi-System Management: Seamlessly manage data and workflows across a diverse tech stack, including ADP and international platforms such as Oyster and Activpayroll.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with People Ops, Benefits, and Accounting to ensure all payroll inputs (equity, bonuses, fringe benefits) are captured and reconciled.
- Payroll Tax & Registration Ownership
- Tax Integrity: Direct ownership of all payroll-related tax withholdings, employer burdens, and statutory contributions across all global regions.
- Filing Oversight: Ensure our payroll providers (ADP, etc.) execute all monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings accurately and on time.
- Registration Management: Proactively manage payroll tax account registrations in all active jurisdictions. Lead the setup of new tax IDs as we expand into new states or countries.
- Notice Resolution: Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving payroll tax notices or inquiries from local, state, or national agencies (e.g., IRS, HMRC).
- Audit & Process Improvement
- Compliance Lead: Manage internal and external payroll audits, ensuring all documentation is organized and compliant with local labor laws.
- Scalability: Continuously evaluate current processes to eliminate manual workarounds and improve the efficiency of our global payroll engine.
Requirements
- 8-12 years of high-volume, multi-region payroll experience with a proven track record of owning all aspects of processing across different global jurisdictions.
- Expert-level proficiency in ADP is required.
- Previous experience with Hibob HRIS, Oyster Payroll, and Activpayroll is highly valued.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies in large datasets before they become issues.
- Effective Communication: Ability to translate complex payroll or tax concepts into clear, actionable information for stakeholders and employees.
- Collaborative Mindset: Experience building bridges between departments and working cross-functionally to solve complex global problems.
- Experience working in an AI-forward environment, with demonstrated ability to use AI tools and technologies as a core part of day-to-day work, problem-solving, and continuous learning.
- Located in ET or CT highly preferred given the global nature of this role.
- Minimal travel may be required.

Pay
Salary for this role ranges between $110,000 - $120,000 based on skill set and experience.
