Responsibilities
- Maintains expense units and budgeting man-hours of assigned departments during the budgeting process.
- Generates FTE and productivity reports and analysis on a monthly basis, including analysis by department and Line Officer.
- Accurate and timely reporting of monthly performance and productivity reports.
- Prepares fixed and variable budget databases based on Board-approved budget.
- Prepares cost analysis for other departments and strategic business units as requested with the time frames stated.
- Develops and maintains required documentation of procedures in dealing with all applications under the direction of the department manager and in collaboration with financial services, Information Resources, and Quality Resource Management.
- Supports system-wide clinical pathway development.
- Collects, stores, retrieves and disseminated data, information or materials as directed.
- Identifies best practice for specific high volume, high risk, high cost DRG’s.
- Builds tables and indicators to support clinical paths.
- Develops standard reports to support clinical path project leaders and strategic business unit leaders.
- Develops/prepares reports to support medical staff inquiries during the re-credentialing process.
- Works with clinical path project leaders, strategic business unit leaders, and QRM staff to develop information flow to the medical staff and maintains information flow to teams and medical staff.
- Assists in the review and maintenance of cost standards.
- Functions as a resource to staff in assisting them to maximize utilization of system applications.
- Resource to all users.
- Provides ongoing clinical support and education for users.
- Provides ongoing support to medical and administrative leaders on their use of the decision support system particularly as it relates to patient care coordination.
- Participates in appropriate clinical committees ensuring that the decision support system meets system-wide analysis needs.
- Maintains and updates master file structures, communications with Information Resources, QRM, financial services and/or vendor representatives as required changes occur, test programming changes and/or updates to the system.
- Assists in efforts to provide comprehensive medical and financial data to internal users.
- Facilitates the collection of accurate and complete data.
- Audits and consults with users to ensure data integrity.
- Develops system to gather data to support medical staff activities such as surgical case review, infection control, blood and drug utilization, etc.
- Develops written procedures and routinely audits decision support subsystems to ensure data integrity.
- Understands the decision support system financial structure as it impacts the patient database and assists financial team members with costs standards enhancements and operational procedures.
- Takes initiative to take on extra assignments or to assist others during periods of increased activity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting or Finance, Business related field required.
- Experience with financial system, integrated financial decision support system with clinical components, strongly preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification preferred.
