Sr. Financial Analyst

Contract position, expected duration 4+ months. Fully onsite in Piqua, OH.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Financial Analyst to provide temporary support to the Finance and Accounting team. This individual will assist with month-end close, financial statement analysis, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and other financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate combines a strong accounting foundation with practical financial analysis experience. This person must be able to retrieve financial information, evaluate its accuracy, identify and explain variances, and communicate the meaning behind the numbers. The successful candidate will be self-directed, proactive, professional, and comfortable working in a highly visible, fully onsite environment.

What You'll Do

• Support monthly financial close and reporting activities.
• Review and analyze income statement and balance sheet accounts.
• Investigate balance sheet, budget-to-actual, forecast, and period-over-period variances.
• Perform profitability analysis across products, customers, departments, or other business segments.
• Retrieve, organize, and analyze financial data from company systems and reporting tools.
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of budgets and forecasts.
• Help ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
• Apply general accounting knowledge, including an understanding of debits, credits, account activity, and financial statement relationships.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Several years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, or a related function.
• Strong understanding of income statements, balance sheets, and general ledger activity.
• Working knowledge of month-end close, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ability to interpret financial data and clearly explain the business meaning behind the numbers.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting, ERP, or financial reporting systems.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-directed and able to work effectively with limited supervision.
• Proactive and dependable, with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional demeanor and presentation appropriate for a visible office environment.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite five days per week.
