About the role

Directs the accounting function relative to reconciliations, accounting processes, preparation of journal entries and required supporting documentation and process improvement for Alamo Colleges and its related entities. Provides required assistance to Finance and Fiscal Services staff as well as to colleges, external auditors and other Alamo Colleges' customers. Provides recommendations to ensure financial policies are consistently applied for all balance sheet, revenues and expenses accounts. Reports to the Department of Finance and Fiscal Services.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree
• Five years of accounting experience
• Supervisory experience

Preferred Education and Experience

• Higher education or non-profit accounting experience
• Three years of supervisory experience

Licenses and Certifications

• Prefer CPA
