Responsibilities
- Oversee the accuracy of daily cash activity by reviewing receipt postings and confirming deposits are recorded to the correct entities and ledger accounts.
- Examine monthly bank reconciliations to ensure balances are complete, properly supported, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Prepare and validate quarter-end journal entries, making sure the general ledger reflects all required financial activity.
- Produce and assess quarterly financial statements for assigned entities, including analysis of budget-to-actual results before reports are shared with stakeholders.
- Build annual budgets by consolidating input from property and construction teams and translating operational plans into financial projections.
- Lead year-end general ledger review and closing activities for designated entities to support accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare required partnership tax filings and related entity tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.
- Partner with management and property owners by providing clear financial insight and responding to ad hoc accounting needs as they arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Active CPA license is required.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- Strong command of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Sage 300 and ProSystem fx is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with close attention to accuracy and detail.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment in financial analysis, and hands-on experience with partnership tax matters.
