About the role

SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. As a Senior Facilities Specialist, you will lead construction and facilities projects that support new production lines, office spaces, and industrial upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction and facilities-related projects and upgrades for new production lines, office spaces, improvements, or industrial upgrades.
  • Assist with the design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports for construction and facilities in aerospace, large commercial, or industrial-type projects.
  • Verify maintenance completion and coordinate repair, build, and contingency systems efforts for HVAC, electrical, cranes, facility systems (e.g., lighting, doors, roof leaks), security systems, and fire protection systems.
  • Communicate and deliver building/maintenance activities and schedules to personnel, subcontractors, and material suppliers to meet targeted deadlines.
  • Write, negotiate, and manage scope across multiple disciplines related to construction and facilities.
  • Maintain interior office and factory cleanliness.
  • Plan, set up, and execute events for VIPs, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Recommend move plans and assist with office relocations.
  • Work with the purchasing department to ensure vendors are approved, vetted, and insured.
  • Support and manage campus services such as the bike program, laundry program, and office supplies.
  • Assist with badging, ITAR, NDA requirements, and safety training.
  • Create RFPOs and assist the manager with furniture and vendor selection.
  • Track purchase orders, weekly reports, and project schedules and statuses.
  • Meet with key SpaceX end users and establish the scope of work.
  • Assist the facilities manager(s) in all aspects of project implementation as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of experience in managing facilities vendors, contract management in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing facilities vendors, contract management, or shipping and operational logistics.
  • Able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Standing for long periods, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with managing commercial, office, or industrial facilities.
  • Familiar with space planning procedures and operations.
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications; ability to navigate different software programs easily.
  • Ability to create and update RFPOs and facilities work orders in an ERP software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information.
  • Strong communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in writing) between employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Able to read and understand basic floor plans.

Pay

Level 3: $115,000.00 - $160,000.00. Your actual level and base salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
