About the role
SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. As a Senior Facilities Specialist, you will lead construction and facilities projects that support new production lines, office spaces, and industrial upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Lead construction and facilities-related projects and upgrades for new production lines, office spaces, improvements, or industrial upgrades.
- Assist with the design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports for construction and facilities in aerospace, large commercial, or industrial-type projects.
- Verify maintenance completion and coordinate repair, build, and contingency systems efforts for HVAC, electrical, cranes, facility systems (e.g., lighting, doors, roof leaks), security systems, and fire protection systems.
- Communicate and deliver building/maintenance activities and schedules to personnel, subcontractors, and material suppliers to meet targeted deadlines.
- Write, negotiate, and manage scope across multiple disciplines related to construction and facilities.
- Maintain interior office and factory cleanliness.
- Plan, set up, and execute events for VIPs, vendors, and internal staff.
- Recommend move plans and assist with office relocations.
- Work with the purchasing department to ensure vendors are approved, vetted, and insured.
- Support and manage campus services such as the bike program, laundry program, and office supplies.
- Assist with badging, ITAR, NDA requirements, and safety training.
- Create RFPOs and assist the manager with furniture and vendor selection.
- Track purchase orders, weekly reports, and project schedules and statuses.
- Meet with key SpaceX end users and establish the scope of work.
- Assist the facilities manager(s) in all aspects of project implementation as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of experience in managing facilities vendors, contract management in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience in managing facilities vendors, contract management, or shipping and operational logistics.
- Able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
- Standing for long periods, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with managing commercial, office, or industrial facilities.
- Familiar with space planning procedures and operations.
- Knowledge of basic computer applications; ability to navigate different software programs easily.
- Ability to create and update RFPOs and facilities work orders in an ERP software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to make independent judgments with limited information.
- Strong communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in writing) between employees, vendors, and customers.
- Able to read and understand basic floor plans.
Pay
Level 3: $115,000.00 - $160,000.00. Your actual level and base salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
