Sr. Facilities Manager - Northern CA

In this position, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert in building operations and maintenance activities while delivering hospitality-driven customer service and operational excellence across multiple sites. Responsibilities
- Store Operations & Service Delivery
- Serve as the primary facilities partner for Retail stores within the assigned region.
- Build strong relationships with store leadership and stakeholders through proactive communication, responsiveness, and hospitality-driven customer service.
- Conduct structured on-site reviews at each location a minimum of twice per month to identify facility-related issues, assess operational performance, and implement solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and the overall workplace experience.
- Vendor & Contractor Management
- Lead and coordinate facility maintenance, repairs, and service delivery through third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Manage vendor performance through work order management systems, regular business reviews, site inspections, and service metrics to ensure contracted services meet operational expectations.
- Review and oversee vendor-related expenditures, invoicing, and procurement activities as appropriate.
- Project & Program Oversight
- Support facility-related capital projects, renovations, store openings, and operational initiatives by partnering with cross-functional teams including Real Estate, Design, Innovation, Standards, Merchandising, Security, IS&T, and Development teams.
- Provide operational guidance and feedback to ensure projects are delivered in alignment with business objectives, facility standards, and long-term maintainability requirements.
- Budget & Financial Management
- Manage annual operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, financial reporting, and expense tracking.
- Evaluate repair-versus-replacement opportunities, develop cost-effective solutions, and participate in vendor sourcing, bidding, contract negotiations, and scope development to ensure strong financial stewardship across the portfolio.
- Building Systems & Technical Expertise
- Apply advanced facilities and building systems knowledge to oversee the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, lighting, landscaping, and other critical infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve complex operational issues while ensuring facilities are maintained to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.
- Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Support environmental health and safety (EHS) programs, promote safe working environments, and maintain quality assurance processes that drive operational excellence across all locations.
- Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for facilities operations.
- Foster collaboration among internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders while promoting CBRE's RISE values.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, service delivery, maintenance programs, and operational standards, driving continuous improvement across the portfolio.
- Sustainability & Environmental Responsibility
- Support sustainability initiatives related to store operations, including energy efficiency programs, waste reduction efforts, renewable energy initiatives, and environmentally responsible vendor and material selections.
- Partner with stakeholders to advance client and CBRE sustainability goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant certifications such as CFM, FMP, IFMA, BOMA, or PMP are preferred.
- 7+ years of facilities management, engineering operations, construction, or related experience. An engineering or technical background is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting retail, workplace, or customer-facing facilities environments, preferably for a global consumer technology organization.
- Deep knowledge of building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire-life safety, lighting, landscaping, and related infrastructure systems.
- Experience developing and executing preventive maintenance programs and managing vendor performance to ensure operational excellence.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing operating and capital budgets, forecasting, contract negotiations, and vendor service agreements.
- Proven ability to evaluate repair-versus-replacement decisions and balance operational risk, service quality, and cost management.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, vendors, store leadership, and cross-functional business partners.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, drive accountability, and align operational goals across multiple teams and functions.
- Experience in hospitality-focused, workplace experience, or client-facing service environments preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with facility operations teams, utility providers, government agencies, architects, designers, contractors, and development teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Valid driver's license required. Must be willing and able to travel to client sites throughout the assigned portfolio, including regular on-site store visits and occasional overnight travel as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and utilize new technologies, systems, and equipment.

Pay
The minimum salary for the Sr. Facilities Manager position is $165,000 annually and the maximum salary is $180,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
