About the role
The Sr Facilities Engineer reports directly to the Site Facility Manager and develops, supports, and safely executes the facilities capital plan to deliver a quality product. This role may also support projects across the CMS portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Specify requirements and write purchase requisitions for facility items, services, and projects.
- Oversee all disciplines of subcontracted construction projects (demolition, electrical, mechanical, structural, carpentry, painting, floor coverings, furniture, etc.).
- Oversee a variety of subcontractors, including reviewing requested work, writing work orders, inspecting work, and approving payments for general construction, vehicle repair, rigging, millwright, crane maintenance, and other services.
- Direct and support projects and meetings for internal customers.
- Guide architectural and engineering firms doing project engineering work.
- Support safety and environmental objectives by following policies, conducting area audits, alleviating issues, serving on committees/teams, and supporting risk reduction and sustainability improvement projects.
- Manage financial responsibilities, including ensuring expenses are applied to the correct cost center and account, completing projects within schedule and budget, and assisting with the annual facilities budget.
- Review documentation associated with projects, such as bids, statements of work, and project authorizations.
- Coordinate and oversee completion of activities in all phases of the project cycle for facilities-related construction projects.
- Support the CMMS system with work order and preventive maintenance (PM) completion.
- Submit purchase order requisitions through Oracle-based software.
- Maintain a safe work environment and promote a culture of safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Four years of related facilities project experience.
- Defense manufacturing environment experience.
- Maintenance supervisory experience.
- Capital projects and facilities budgeting experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD software.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with manufacturing database software such as Oracle.
- Proactive and forward-thinking approach to projects and building systems.
- Able to balance multiple assignments to meet target dates.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Project management experience.
- Experience working with contractors and vendors.
Pay
$50.00/hr - $62.00 per hour on W2.
Schedule
9/80 schedule: 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with every other Friday off.
