Sr. Environmental Permitting Specialist
About the role
The Environmental Permitting Specialist (New England) position at AECOM offers an opportunity to support a variety of diverse and exciting projects in various client sectors including Energy, State Infrastructure Projects, Federal Sector Projects, and Industrial Projects. The role requires environmental permitting experience in Massachusetts and other New England States, with a focus on the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act Regulations (310 CMR 10.00), S. 404/401 of the CWA, MEPA, Ch.91 and related land-use regulations.
Responsibilities
- Support a wide range of diverse and exciting projects in multiple client sectors including Energy (electric transmission, generation, renewables), State Infrastructure Projects, Federal Sector Projects and Industrial Projects.
- Attend and lead public presentations.
- Work within a team environment.
- Understand and comply with regulatory permit requirements.
- Support projects in Massachusetts and other New England States.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Sciences or related field + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
- Environmental permitting experience is required.
- US citizenship is required.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review are required.
- MS and 12+ years of permitting experience preferred.
- A background in Wetland Science, Policy and Land Use Regulations is desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer skills are required.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Environmental Science, Biology, Sciences or related field + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
- Minimum 8 years of environmental permitting experience.
- Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.
- Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
- MS and 12+ years of permitting experience preferred.
- Background in Wetland Science, Policy and Land Use Regulations desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer skills required.

Pay
USD 150000 - USD 170000 - yearly
Schedule
Remote with some project and client travel, project meetings and site meetings.
