Qualifications

  • High School diploma required, advanced course work in safety-related disciplines preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of five years related experience preferred; Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and OSHA related courses preferred
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all environmental, safety, and health concerns of the Omaha Site.
  • Create guidelines, checklists, policies, procedures, and other related program content to align with best practices and frameworks and enable organizational stakeholders to carry out and enhance programs.
  • Serves as SME for all Cohere facilities to identify and mitigate safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Serves as the primary organizational contact for external emergency response/notification agencies.
  • Performs regular safety audits, records, and analyzes data, and informs leadership of findings.
  • Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, injuries, reports, and related correspondence.
  • Serves as the primary organizational contact for external emergency response/notification agencies.
  • Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serves as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
  • Maintains records of discharge of/or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Performs pre/post-safety inspections for projects.
  • Monthly EHS Results reporting for Omaha and Corporate scorecards
  • Reviews Safety results in Monthly Town Halls and Monthly Business Review meetings
  • Leads new hire safety orientation.
