Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an engineering team responsible for the technical execution of switchgear skid projects from initial concept through manufacturing, including post-delivery technical support.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet Vertiv quality standards while remaining within approved project budgets and schedules.
- Collaborate with Vertiv business units and approved suppliers to select equipment that meets customer specifications, project requirements, and U.S. regulatory standards.
- Serve as primary engineering point of contact for project escalations to provide both technical and managerial support to team and customers.
- Assist with management of contracted engineering firms for structural analysis, calculations, and factory shop drawing development.
- Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. federal, state, and local codes, standards, and regulations, including NEC, IBC, and related requirements.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable standards such as ASTM, ANSI, UL, and IEEE as they relate to structural materials, electrical systems, and finishes.
- Develop innovative and practical engineering solutions to address customer and project challenges.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
- Conduct annual performance reviews, set performance goals, and support the professional development of engineering team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline preferred).
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive engineering experience, including people leadership or project management responsibilities.
- Proficiency with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, SolidWorks, or similar software.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- General understanding of critical data center infrastructure and electrical distribution equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Prominent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
