Sr. Engineering Manager
Position Summary
The Senior Engineering Manager serves as a key member of the plant leadership team, with end-to-end accountability for engineering, maintenance, and reliability performance. This role sets the strategic direction for plant engineering, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, cost, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, quality, capacity, and cost performance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action efforts for equipment and process issues.
Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
Manage capital projects, including planning, budgeting, equipment installation, and commissioning.
Identify and implement automation, technology, and process improvement opportunities.
Establish departmental goals, KPIs, budgets, and staffing plans.
Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Safety, HR, and Corporate teams to achieve business objectives.
Develop and mentor engineering and maintenance personnel while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Own plant-wide engineering, maintenance, and reliability strategy aligned to business objectives.
Lead a multi-functional team, developing leadership capability and succession pipelines.
Manage capital portfolio and engineering budgets, ensuring ROI-driven investment decisions.
Drive measurable improvements in OEE, cost, quality, and capacity.
Partner cross-functionally and with corporate teams to standardize best practices.
Identify and implement automation and digital manufacturing solutions to modernize operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
8+ years of progressive engineering/manufacturing experience
3+ years in leadership roles (including leading leaders)
Experience in manufacturing, building products, or similar industrial environments
Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement certification preferred
Experience with CMMS systems, reliability engineering, and asset management programs
Strong leadership, project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Proven success leading cross-functional teams, capital projects, and operational improvement initiatives
