About the role
We develop designs, layouts, construction drawings, and a bill of material for large projects and complex systems involving the installation/removal/modification of utility infrastructure on Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecommunication facilities/systems.
We interpret and apply engineering standards and memos. We assist with technical consultation, plan developments, and recommendations for customer and company systems and processes. We evaluate the effectiveness of current design processes. We participate on teams to design high voltage transmission and distribution circuits, meeting all engineering standards and criteria.
Responsibilities
- Develops designs, layouts, construction drawings, and a bill of material for large projects and complex systems involving the installation/removal/modification of utility infrastructure on Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecommunication facilities/systems.
- Interprets and applies engineering standards and memos.
- Assists with technical consultation, plan developments, and recommendations for customer and company systems and processes; verifies and validates studies, blueprints, or designs against accepted engineering principles and practices.
- Evaluates effectiveness of current design processes.
- Participates on teams; participates in design of high voltage transmission and distribution circuits, meeting all engineering standards and criteria.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field and 3 or more years of technical experience, an associate's degree in a technical field and 5 or more years of technical experience, or 7 or more years of technical experience or relevant education if non-degreed or a non-technical degree.
- Successful completion of the Technician Occupations Selection Systems (TECH) test (a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university exempts the TECH Test requirement).
- Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches.
- Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments for a specific discipline installation, or service.
- Proficient Computer Drawing and Computer Assisted Design skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- Relevant education/experience: Knowledge and/or skills that may be acquired through job experiences or education programs similar to a formal technical degree program. Relevant experience includes experience in a military role (transmission, distribution, gas, power systems, etc.), project management, journey-level electrician or gas technician, field operations, or other utility related experience, as deemed relevant to the role.
- Relevant educational experience: Company sponsored training programs (ex. PowerUp Academy) or other educational programs, as deemed relevant to the role.

- Annual salary varies based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $87,200.00/Yr. – $119,900.00/Yr.
