Sr Engineer, Software Engineer - Java

The NF Integrated Digital Services team is seeking a detail-oriented Software Engineer with advanced Java, SQL, and AWS infrastructure skills to support eB2B systems. eB2B enables critical business processes for the Annuities, Life Insurance, and Retirement Solutions lines of business, ensuring Firms and Advisors can issue new business and service their customers efficiently.
As a Software Engineer on the eB2B team, you will play a critical role in supporting the eB2B Run Team by managing infrastructure tasks, incident resolution, and file transfer operations. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery processes. Additionally, you will maintain DTCC and non-DTCC feed transmissions, working closely with team members and business partners to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability across platforms.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, document, and deploy software according to standards and best practices.
- Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to protect data and technology solutions from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Use DevSecOps practices, tooling, and techniques.
- Drive continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice, and innovation.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.
- Support eB2B Run Team by managing infrastructure tasks, incident resolution, and file transfer operations.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable delivery processes.
- Maintain DTCC and non-DTCC feed transmissions, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
Requirements
- Strong experience in software development and infrastructure support.
- Hands-on expertise with CI/CD tools and pipeline management.
- Knowledge of file transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP) and data feed systems.
- Experience in AWS infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Proven ability to tackle moderately sophisticated business and development problems.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Insurance/financial services industry knowledge is a plus.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
- Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Schedule
This role will work a hybrid schedule, coming into the Columbus, Ohio office 2 days per week on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Pay
The national salary range for Sr Engineer, Software Engineer: $76,000.00 - $143,000.00.
The expected starting salary range for Sr Engineer, Software Engineer: $76,000.00 - $115,000.00.
Placement within the actual starting salary range will be determined by skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market.
