About the role

This position is for a Senior Electronics Engineer in the field of embedded electronic systems, with a focus on electronic hardware design, system integration, and component development for our dispenser products. The Senior Engineer will design and deliver high-quality hardware solutions, contribute to system architecture decisions, and support product development across the full lifecycle. While primarily a technical role, it requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence design decisions and improve engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and review electronic hardware systems, including schematics, component selection, and validation.
  • Apply best practices in PCB design/layout (signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI, manufacturability), collaborating with layout engineers as needed.
  • Contribute to system architecture discussions and ensure proper hardware integration within the overall system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing) to align requirements and ensure successful product integration.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex issues involving hardware, firmware, and system interactions.
  • Support design verification (DV), validation, and qualification activities at component, board, and system levels.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, regulatory, and industry standards (e.g., PCI, EMC, UL).
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing, including issue resolution and design improvements.
  • Contribute to the definition and improvement of engineering processes, tools, and design guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded hardware architectures, microcontrollers, and system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic design, debugging, and hardware validation.
  • Solid understanding of PCB design principles (SI/PI, EMC/EMI, grounding, layout constraints).
  • Experience working in cross-functional product development environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electro-mechanical integration (e.g., SolidWorks or similar tools).
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and USB.
  • Experience with microcontroller programming (C) for debugging or validation purposes.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM/DFX).
  • Experience with compliance and certification processes (PCI, EMI/EMC, safety).
  • Experience in regulated or harsh environments (e.g., fuel dispensers, EV chargers, industrial systems).

Essential Functions

  • Deliver high-quality hardware designs within project timelines.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively within global teams.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and support decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Support team growth through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
