About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. The position involves leading workplace investigations, partnering with Labor Relations, and supporting proactive Employee Relations initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead HR investigations end to end regarding workplace issues, policy violations, misconduct, or employment law violations
- Partner directly with the Labor Relations leader to execute a proactive Labor Relations strategy, identifying trends, addressing risks upstream, and strengthening the relationship between Blue Origin and its workforce before issues escalate
- Partner proactively with business leaders to identify emerging Employee Relations trends, diagnose root causes, and deliver practical solutions that prevent recurrence and reduce risk across the organization
- Conduct root cause analysis and make recommendations regarding policy changes, development, interpretation, and precedent setting problem resolution
- Support planning and managing Employee and Labor Relations projects and programs, with investigations, proactive LR execution, and proactive business partnership anchoring your day to day work
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline
- 7+ years of HR experience with a clear track record of leading workplace investigations end to end and managing highly sensitive, confidential information
- Demonstrated experience conducting successful fact-finding investigations, including complex, multi-party, or high stakes matters, and producing defensible investigative reports
- Experience supporting or executing Labor Relations work in a proactive, preventative posture, not solely reactive
- Experience partnering proactively with business leaders to identify ER trends and deliver solutions that address root causes
- Experience providing guidance to employees, managers, and HR colleagues regarding policies, procedures, and programs as well as federal and state labor and employment laws
Desired
- Formal training or certification in workplace investigations (e.g., AWI-CH, ILR, or equivalent)
- Deep familiarity with investigative and analytical techniques, procedures, and evidentiary standards
- Advanced conflict resolution and influencing skills
- Strong ability to compile, research, and analyze information
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, particularly with employees and leaders on opposite sides of a difficult issue
- Skilled at composing and presenting comprehensive investigative reports and briefings to senior leaders

- Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
