Sr Electronics Technician
Red Peak Technical Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC, has an opportunity for a Senior Electronics Technician to serve as a maintenance technician at the Naval Consolidated BRIG (Prison) in Charleston, SC. This role is part of a team that works normal shift hours and also has 24/7 on-call responsibilities for emergency maintenance actions. This opportunity is contingent upon a potential contract award.
About the Role
This position requires applying technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals and engineering drawings. The role involves familiarity with HP Aruba Network Switch programming, Windows 11, and Windows Server setup and troubleshooting. Compliance with safety, security, property, and material management protocols, as well as time and attendance policies, is essential.
Familiarity with Milestone Video systems, Stentofon Intercom Systems, Aviva Wonderware HMI software, PLC hardware, and electronic door locks is required. The technician must stay current on procedures, policies, instructions, technical orders, and manufacturer’s manuals, adhering to guidelines from supervisors, manufacturer handbooks, the National Electric Code, and engineering handbooks. Safety procedures and the use of protective equipment are mandatory. Conduit and general electrician experience is a plus, as is previous maintenance experience at a military, federal, state, or county prison.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, install, modify, and troubleshoot electronic equipment.
- Interpret wiring schematics and engineering drawings.
- Perform soldering and work with printed circuit boards and power supplies.
- Follow Quality Assurance procedures.
- Use power tools, drills, saws, and mechanical/electrical hand tools.
- Install and terminate fiber optic and copper communications.
- Install exterior electrical/communications conduit to power panels and junction boxes.
- Adapt to changes in technology and maintain professionalism in diverse situations.
- Use computer software, including Windows OS, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
- Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with electronic equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, modification, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in reading wiring schematics.
- Experience with soldering and familiarity with printed circuit boards and power supplies.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures.
- Experience with power tools, drills, and saws.
- Ability to stand for full shifts during assigned tasks.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical hand tools.
- Experience with fiber optic and copper communications installation and termination.
- Experience with exterior electrical/communications conduit installation.
- Ability to adapt to technological changes.
- Professional and courteous interaction with diverse individuals.
- Basic computer skills, including Windows OS and Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- U.S. Citizenship required (pursuant to the Government Contract).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Pay
$38.46 to $57.69 hourly.
