About the Role

The Senior Value Engineer plays a crucial role in translating ideas into reality, focusing on enhancing the electronics and electrical subsystems of our industry-leading products. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering best practices and the ability to lead a team in designing, prototyping, and testing embedded electronics for various battery projects.

Responsibilities

• Execute a lead technical role in executing engineering best practices focused on improving product value.
• Engineer enhancements of embedded system designs including schematic capture, PCB Layout, and microcontroller firmware of current mass production solutions.
• Review engineering deliverables from others and lead a small to medium size team of electrical engineers in the design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics for a variety of battery projects.
• Provide candid and effective communications up, down and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities.
• Demonstrate Milwaukee Tool's Culture of high performance and agility by independently creating Work Breakdown Structures for your work and driving to critical milestones.
• Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for establishing and achieving key project metrics that meet the organization's needs.
• Serve as a role model Milwaukee Tool's culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior engineers.
• Grow the ability to lead and manage a small team.
• Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee process.
• Design and qualify new designs to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in the design of electronics.
• Experience with engineering design tools such as MCU Compilers and Debuggers (8/16/32 Bit), PCB Design Software (Altium), Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes, and SPICE.
• Knowledge of electronic component selection and design tradeoffs.
• Demonstrated ability to write detailed test plans and validate designs that meet product requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, exercises independent judgement, and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).

Qualifications

• Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Prior practical background in portable electronics, Li-Ion Battery Management Electronics, Power electronics and power supply circuits, Consumer electronics, Instrumentation and measurement systems.
• Mentoring and leadership experience.
