About the role
This position will rotate through various areas including Distribution Planning, Distribution Design, Distribution Ops Support, Technical Operations, Distribution Metering, and Commercial Energy Services.
Responsibilities
- Duties include the Ten-Year Distribution Capacity Plan, Two-Year Distribution System Improvement Plan, distribution contingency studies, capacitor management, capacitor placement study, over current protection coordination studies, distribution voltage regulator settings, distribution feeder load balancing, transformer load management, and SCADA data analysis.
- Provides technical support to Distribution Design, Area Operations, Technical Operations, and Distribution SCADA and Control.
- Designs, upgrades, inspects, and maintains the electrical distribution system in accordance with the National Electrical Code and National Electrical Safety Code standards to provide reliable electrical service to the customers in Horry and Georgetown counties in accordance with applicable company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains an accurate electronic model of the Geographic Information System (GIS).
- Assists with activities related to the operation and maintenance of Santee Cooper's Distribution GIS data model.
- Provides technical support and works with system users to maintain accurate property and facility records reflective of the electrical system and to help provide electrical service to the customers in Horry and Georgetown counties in accordance with applicable company standards, policies, and procedures.
- System Administrative duties include routine Geodatabase Management log file review and conflict resolution GIS maintenance.
- Promotes and implements Santee Cooper's energy efficiency and customer service programs. Assists in numerous commercial energy services (energy assessments, energy audits, high bill analyses and rate analyses).
Requirements
- Will consider Engineer I or II
- Engineer I: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited University or College
- Engineer in Training certification is preferred.
- Engineer II: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited University or College + 2 years experience
- Fundamental of Engineering license is preferred.
Compensation
- Engineer I: $75,500 - $94,350 (min. - mid.)
- Engineer II: $84,180 - $105,210 (min. - mid.)
