Sr Electrical Engineer (Automation/Controls Engineer)

Responsibilities

• Project lead in manufacturing process improvements, assembly equipment retrofit projects and new equipment procurement.
• Provide all documentation required to support assembly equipment, including operating instructions, electrical schematics, specifications, parameter settings, software backups, requirement specifications.
• Write FAT, SAT and execute Installation Qualification (IQ) functional protocol challenges.
• Provide technical support to maintenance as required.
• Address manufacturing issues on a daily basis as needed.
• Troubleshoot machine stoppages and provide root cause analysis for manufacturing teams.
• Review and develop process improvements to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of manufacturing systems.
• Review equipment quotes, design reviews, and work with project teams to provide custom assembly equipment.
• Key participant in DFMEA, PFMEA, Machine Risk Assessments, and quality (CTQ) processes, ensuring specifications are well-defined and documented.
• Key participant in equipment specifications, supplier selection, and qualification activities.
• Key participant in all Validation activities.
• Communicate and coordinate activities with multiple functional groups both within and outside of operations.

Requirements

• Experience with PLC & Vision platforms (GuardLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix Platforms) and HMI’s (FactoryTalk ME/SE) and Vision Inspection (Cognex, Keyence).
• Ability to read Electrical schematics.
• Experience and experience in diagnosing servo and stepper motion control and controllers.
• Proficient in electrical and controls design with experience using NFPA standards with experience in automated assembly equipment and ability to troubleshoot equipment using conventional diagnostic tools.

Education

• BS Electrical/Controls/Electromechanical Engineering preferred.

Years’ Experience

• 3-5 years applicable experience.
