Sr Electrical Engineer

About the role

Senior-level engineer applying electrical engineering knowledge and skills for large, complex, long-duration engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize projects or programs of large size, scope, and duration.
• Lead and coordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers, and/or drafters.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose, implement, and document engineering solutions, electrical designs, and software systems for machine and process controls.
• Lead the creation and modification of designs and requirements for automated production equipment, electrical and hardware schematics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and controls software.
• Oversee equipment debug and installations.
• Identify broad conceptual ideas and develop them into useful solutions.
• Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information, draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products.
• Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions.
• Establish continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved.
• Mentor other engineers.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess one of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and six (6) years of related engineering experience, OR
• Associate’s degree and twelve (12) years of related engineering experience.

Skills

• Experience designing, developing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex control systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and controls software.
• Experience utilizing 5S procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
• Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Advanced knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Ability to successfully prioritize and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments.
• Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information.

• Bachelor’s degree.
