Sr. ED Technician - Full Time, Day Shift

About the Role

Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and MD/Provider with assessments, examinations, and treatments. Performs a variety of technical and patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Also performs essential functions of the Unit Secretary and assists in the daily functioning of the department, including triage duties.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations, and treatments.
• Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care, and observations.
• Maintains state of readiness by ensuring equipment and supplies are appropriate to the position.
• Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
• Provides patient and family education and mentors/trains staff on technical skills within scope of practice.
• Prioritizes patient care and department needs, sets goals, and organizes time to meet daily demands of nursing care.
• Records and collects specimens.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Two years' technical experience: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic (PM) certification: Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (CMA), Paramedic certification, or Phlebotomist Technician license: Preferred

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $25.13 to $32.30 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
