Sr Drafter/Designer

About the role

At Ervin Cable Construction, LLC, as a Senior Drafter Designer, you’ll contribute to project teams by developing Outside Plant (OSP) network designs and ensuring compliance with established deliverables and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Participate on project teams and ensure compliance with predetermined project deliverables
• Identify and course correct project issues and risks, participate in response plans to resolve issues
• Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
• Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
• Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
• Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, ie: bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
• Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
• Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities
• Meet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• A High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least four years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering Experience is required
• An Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred
• Expertise in a drafting software such as AutoCAD is required
• Knowledge of Telecommunications industry standards
• Regulations for OSP facilities
• Aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
• Fiber to the Home and Fiber to the Building Government permit requirements
• OSP Communications Design systems Applications such as NDS, FROGS, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and/or Varasset
• Fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk

Pay

The wage range for Sr Drafter/Designer is $50,000.00 - $65,000.00.
