Primary responsibility is organizing and analyzing unit information from leases, agreements, drilling and division order title opinions, title requirements, curative, and other land-related documents. This information is used to create and amend divisions of interest for billing, revenue disbursements, division/transfer orders, including setup and maintenance of revenue, JIB, take in kind, and related decks. The senior division order analyst will mentor junior analysts and report to the Division Order Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Analyze lease, contract, and legal title files for proper well setups for both revenue and billing purposes prior to division of interest setup.
- Review title opinions, joint operating agreements, unit designations, plats, and letter agreements.
- Review post-production caps.
- Ensure producing well setups and owner maintenance are completed by the monthly accounting deadline.
- Monitor drilling schedule and DOA assignment schedule to set up new properties in a timely manner.
- Interface with rig line captains and landmen to manage and maintain unit setups and amendments.
- Research files and analyze wills and deeds to resolve complicated estate, transfer, and ownership changes/discrepancies.
- Review and manage suspense and escheat items.
- Understand and follow all SOX requirements for the department.
- Review and approve work completed by others per SOX compliance standards.
- Perform complicated calculations of divisions of interest.
- Accurately input division of interest information (revenue, joint interest billing, and take-in-kind decks).
- Review title documents for ownership transfers (estate paperwork/legal title conveyances).
- Work closely with the Owner Relations Team to respond to owner inquiries and advise on requirements for proper payment.
- Update decks and issue transfer orders/notices.
- Prepare reversal/rebooking decks to ensure accurate revenue prior-period adjustments.
- Generate suspense reports and release suspense as appropriate.
- Interact with peer departments to obtain relevant information impacting ownership and revenue distribution.
- Assist in audit reviews as necessary.
- Run queries and generate reports as needed.
- Research and input non-operated interests.
- Identify and verify leasehold and unit acreage using WebMap.
- Mentor lower-level Division Order Analysts.
- Regular and timely attendance.
